Juniors

Junior Regional Cups

The junior regional cups competition offer squad and tournament opportunities for players, from the local associations to be involved in higher levels of competition.

These include:

  •  Frank Sedgman Cup (11& under boys and girls)
  •  Alicia Molik Cup (12& under boys and girls)
  •  John Fitzgerald Cup (13 & under boys)
  •  Foundation Cup (13 & under girls)
  •  Ambassadors Cup (15 & under boys and girls)
  •  Association and Regional Challenge (12, 14, 16 & under boys and girls)
  •  Country Cup (17 & under boys and girls)

Selection of regional teams

Selection of regional teams is based on results from the Cavalier Homes Junior Development Tournaments. These tournaments are held regularly throughout the year at the Traralgon Tennis Club.

2009 Bruce Cup player selection

The Bruce Cup is the prestigious national schools tennis championships, for girls and boys aged 10 years to 12 years (birth year 1997 or younger), conducted by School Sport Australia. The National finals event will be conducted in Adelaide in September 2009 on hardcourts and, for the first time, the event will have Australian Rankings points.

Performance pathways

The Gippsland Sports Academy's Tennis Program provides advancement pathways for promising junior players. The program is supported by Tennis Victoria. Squad selection is usually made towards the end of each year.
