The major role of the Central Gippsland Regional Council is to select and field junior regional squads that compete in state wide tournaments against other regions of Victoria including metropolitan teams.

Have fun, get fit and socialise with Mum's Tennis Program
27 January 2010 - Korumburra Tennis Club will be running the Tennis Victoria Mums' Program in February and March, 2010. The Mum's Program is open to beginners and those who would like to resume playing tennis. Conducted by qualified coaches in a non-competitive environment, the program focuses on the fun, fitness and health benefits of playing tennis.
There is no need to purchase any equipment to participate and you'll receive expert tennis coaching!

Wayne Arthurs Cup Results (10 & under)
27 January 2010 - The Central Gippsland Region has finished 9th at the 2009 Wayne Arthurs Cup held at Kooyong on the 12-13th December.
The competition field was comprised of 17 representative areas from across Victoria, including teams from metro and regional centres.
Josh Charlton, Jack Clements, Annalese Hughes and Emily Haeusler represented the Central Gippsland side with Josh Charlton remaining undefeated throughout the competition.

Tennis Australia Foundation Cup Results (13 & Under) – Sydney
27 January 2010 - The Victorian Girls 13 & under teams has returned home victorious after winning the Tennis Australia Foundation Cup in Sydney. The girls defeated teams from Western Australia, South Australia, and New South Wales in attaining the Foundation Cup.
Victoria's Boys were runners-up to New South Wales in the same event. Alistair Salerno from Central Gippsland helped the Victorian 13 & under Boys team reach the final after comprehensive victories over Western Australia and South Australia.
New South Wales proved too strong for the Victorians in the final, taking out the crown 7 sets to 4.
Another great win for Central Gippsland!

Central Gippsland's successful AmbassadorsCup squad
10 December 2009 - The Central Gippsland Tennis Region has outclassed a field of teams from throughout regional Victoria to claim this year's Ambassadors Cup.
The 15 & Under Team comprised of James Sheppard, Nick Tile, Sophie Grumley and Emma Waite.
Their victory was in an all Gippsland final when they defeated local rivals, East Gippsland. The tournaments results area on our Juniors page provides information about other junior events.
2010 Country Action Grants Scheme & Victalent Grants
Applications now open for phase 2 (closing 1 March 2010)
10 December 2009 - The Country Action Scheme provides grants of up to $5000 to increase the capacity of community sport and recreation organisations in rural and regional Victoria (guidelines here, PDF format ). Victalent provides a $500 travel assistance grant to community sport and recreation organisations in rural and regional Victoria to assist athletes, coaches, officials and teams with the travel costs of engaging in training and competition (guidelines here, PDF format ).

Central Gippsland - John Fitzgerald winners
Central Gippsland Victorious
12 November 2009 - The Central Gippsland 13 & Under has outclassed the field to take out this year's John Fitzgerald Cup held in Geelong.
The Fitzgerald Cup is a boys 13 & Under competition contested by teams that represent the different regions of country Victoria. These include: Central Gippsland, East Gippsland, Barwon, Central Highlands, Loddon Campaspe, Glenelg, Mornington Peninsula, Northern Mallee, Wimmera and Goulburn.
Alistair Salerno, Daniel Axnick, David Hough and Jarryd Garlick overcame the Barwon region 3-1 in the final to claim victory in the event.
John Fitzgerald attended the event and was on hand to present the boys their trophy and medallions.
Congratulations to the Central Gippsland team on their success!
The Girls 13 & Under event (Foundation Cup) will be held in Traralgon on November 15 & 16.
